Lively salsa with ripe mango, lime and fresh herbs for a zesty kick
Tangy Mango Salsa: Lively salsa with ripe mango, lime and fresh herbs for a
zesty kick.

Ingredients:
2 ripe mangoes, peeled, pitted and diced
1/2 red onion, finely chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
1 jalapeño pepper, seeds removed and finely chopped
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
Juice of 1 lemon
Test for salt and pepper
Instructions:
Prepare the mangoes: Peel the ripe mangoes and remove the
pulp from the pit. Cut the mango into small pieces and place in a mixing bowl.
Chop the ingredients: Finely chop the red onion, red bell
pepper, jalapeno pepper (remember to remove the seeds), and fresh cilantro. Add
them to the mixing bowl with the mangoes.
Mix and Season: Squeeze the juice of a lime over the chopped
ingredients in the bowl. Toss ingredients together to gently combine. Season
with salt and pepper to taste.
Adjust Flavor: Taste the salsa and adjust flavors as needed.
You can add more lime juice for extra tanginess or more chopped cilantro for a
stronger herb flavor.
Chill: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the
mango salsa for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to
blend and develop.
Serve: Serve the tangy mango salsa as a refreshing dip with
tortilla chips, or use it as a topping for grilled chicken, fish tacos, or as a
side to your favorite Mexican dishes.
Suggestion:
Ripeness: Make sure the mango is ripe but not overly soft.
They should have a firm texture and a sweet aroma.
Heat Level: Adjust the heat level of the salsa by adding
more or less jalapeño pepper. Remember, the jalapeño's seeds and membrane
contribute to its spiciness, so adjust accordingly.
Variations: Feel free to get creative by adding other
ingredients like diced cucumber, diced pineapple, or even a touch of minced
garlic.
Tangy mango salsa adds tropical sweetness and subtle
freshness to any dish. It's perfect for brightening up your food and adding a
delightful twist of flavor.
