A comforting tomato soup with a velvety texture and fresh basil flavor

Ingredients:
2 cans (28 ounces each) whole tomatoes
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups vegetable or chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
2 tablespoons of butter
Test for salt and pepper
Instructions:
Saute onions in butter until translucent.
Add minced garlic, canned tomatoes (crushed) and broth.
Simmer for 15 minutes.
Blend until smooth. Return to the container.
Stir in heavy cream and basil. Boil for 5 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper.
Serve hot.
